A Jungle Story

"The Song of the Jungle"

An inspired work
Soon after we were shown Lisa Liu's Song of the Jungle, we became very moved by it. It is a heartfelt piece about the rainforests, one that we felt should be shared with the world. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we did.

About the Author
Lisa Liu's interest in the rainforest started as a young girl, when she wrote to President Bush about her concern for the preservation of the life and beauty that the rainforest sustains. In addition to her wonderful work as a writer and an artist, Lisa played beautiful music on the flute and piano.

For the last few years, Lisa had been battling a disease called osteosarcoma, a cancer of the bone. Despite the effects that the disease and treatment had on Lisa, she continued to pursue her creative talents. Lisa shared some of the beauty of her talents in "The Song of the Jungle". We thank Lisa, for making us slow down, think, and appreciate the beauty that our world holds.

Sadly, Lisa's battle against cancer ended on January 16, 1998. Those of us who knew Lisa are happy that her legacy will continue through her beautiful work about the rainforest. She will be missed.
