The Paintings of Bernard Scott

Bernard Scott sends us six new works inspired by his travels to Costa Rica. Frequently on the road (or off the beaten path), he was in Peru in October, and returns to Ecuador in January with a stopover at the Darien Gap in Panama. Happy travels!

Meet Bernard Scott

Bernard Scott's artwork is a unique style of painting wildlife as many have discovered: his artwork has been featured on Christmas cards by the National Geographic Society, American Museum of Natural History, Sierra Club, National Audubon Society, and the National Wildlife Federation. Bernard only paints subjects from places he has visited. His past artwork has featured the wildlife of Alaska & other North American locations. Only recently, while visiting the Andes cloudforests in Ecuador, has he found a whole new range of subjects to paint. Tropical subjects, that is. In 2003, he will be going back to those cloudforests where he will be teaching a painting workshop. In his home state of Pennsylvania, he teaches Artist in Residence programs to Elementary and Middle school children. Bernard stresses there's more to a painting then the paint: the natural history behind the the art subjects is also a very important part of the experience. In Febuary, he will be traveling to the country of Costa Rica. We look forward to his new work as a result of that adventure.
